Nominations Open for 2022 AOS Awards

Senior Professional Awards, Early Professional Awards, Service Awards, Student Membership, Student Research, and Publication Awards

The American Ornithological Society’s (AOS) 2022 awards cycle is now open! Each year through our awards program, the AOS celebrates the notable achievements of ornithologists who are engaged in critical and innovative avian research and conservation science, research publication, and service to the Society. We rely on YOU, our members, to nominate your colleagues, mentees, and mentors for these prestigious awards.

Details and eligibility criteria for our 2022 awards are presented on our website for the Senior Professional Awards, Early Professional Awards, Service Awards, and Publication Awards. Award winners are announced annually in the spring and will be presented at AOS’s 2022 Annual Meeting, which will be hosted in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from 27 June–2 July 2022. Nominations are due by 15 January 2022.

Student & Postdoc Awards Details

Student Membership Awards: Do you know a student who is interested in joining the AOS? AOS awards free, one-year student memberships to students from anywhere in the world who are interested in pursuing a career in ornithology and are new to the Society. Qualified applicants for Student Membership Awards will receive the full benefits of AOS membership through December 2022. Applications due: 31 December 2021.

Student Research Awards:  AOS grants annual Student Research Awards of up to $2,500 to support research in all areas of avian science by undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs. We encourage students and postdocs from any region to apply. Applications due: 4 February 2022.

Student Presentation and Student/Postdoc Travel Awards will open in the coming weeks.
