Applications for 2022 AOS Student Membership Awards Are Now Open

The American Ornithological Society (AOS) is now accepting applications for the 2022 Student Membership Awards program, which provides one year of free membership to students from anywhere in the world interested in pursuing a career in ornithology.

To be eligible, applicants must not have previously been members of AOS (including either AOU or COS), and must be either (1) currently enrolled students at any level from any country, or (2) students between degree-seeking programs with intent to re-enter a degree program in the future.

Recipients receive full membership benefits in the AOS, including online access to Ornithology (formerly The Auk) and Ornithological Applications (formerly The Condor), access to Birds of the World, and other society benefits. These awards are administered by the Student Membership Awards Committee.

Successful applicants will be notified that they are receiving a Student Membership Award in time to register early for the annual meeting and to apply for Student Travel Awards, the Student Presentation Award competition, and Student Research Awards.

Interested students must submit their applications by 31 December 2021 at 11:59 p.m. (EST) through the AOS Member Portal. You will be required to log in. If you have not previously created an account, click “Register Now” on the lower right of the screen to set up your profile.

For more information, see the Student Membership Awards page on the AOS website.
