New AOS Student Member Networking Resource

The American Ornithological Society’s (AOS) Student Affairs Committee is convening a monthly Zoom series to help students collaborate, build community, and access professional development opportunities through AOS. We are excited to announce that our first event, “Meet Your Peers,” will be held Friday, 4 December at 4:00 p.m. EST!

Collaboration, community building, and finding like-minded peers can be challenging as a student, and even more so during a pandemic! At “Meet Your Peers,” we invite all participants to design one slide introducing yourself, your research, and your professional interests as a way for us all to to learn about the student body that makes up AOS. All participants will also have an opportunity to weigh in on skill-share events that we’ve identified for 2021, building a safe space within AOS to share information about your professional development needs across a range of topics, from software workshops to providing effective feedback in project reviews!

Invite your fellow AOS or non-AOS members—all students are welcome! Feel free to also join the AOS Student Affairs Committee’s Slack Channel to stay connected with your fellow students.

Thank you for being an AOS member. We look forward to meeting you!
