I first presented at the AOS 2022 conference in Puerto Rico, where I was also a volunteer. From this one experience I saw how AOS fosters opportunities for scientists in every career stage, while addressing the barriers in our work.

Current institution and/or position: Ph.D. student, Behavioral Ecology Lab, Department of Zoology and Physiology, University of Wyoming
Scientific research goals and achievements: My research focuses on bridging the gap between ornithologists and managers, with emphasis for endangered species and systems. From the Florida scrub to the Hawaiian forests, I take a holistic view to understand species decline within their complex systems. My goal is to continue research that results in actionable recommendations for listed species conservation in temperate and tropical regions.
Fun fact: I am absolutely obsessed with chipmunks and skunks, and would probably study either of those if birds didn’t steal my heart first!
Why have you chosen to be a member of the AOS?
I first presented at the AOS 2022 conference in Puerto Rico, where I was also a volunteer. From this one experience I saw how AOS fosters opportunities for scientists in every career stage, while addressing the barriers in our work. I am proud to have joined the Meeting Coordination Committee (MCC) and other committees to ensure AOS and our conferences remain inclusive and supportive for the many faces that make AOS what it is today.
