The American Ornithological Society and BirdsCaribbean seek nominations for Keynote and Plenary speakers for our joint 2022 Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, 27 June to 2 July 2022. The conference theme is “On the Wings of Recovery: Resilience and Action.” We anticipate inviting 3 to 5 speakers who will address a diversity of relevant and timely topics.
We are looking for academics and/or conservation practitioners, who are charismatic public speakers, do innovative work, and will present an inspiring talk. The presentation should provide new insights and stimulate discussion that helps advance our shared goal of understanding and conserving birds and their habitats. Story-driven presentations are highly encouraged!
Prospective speakers should:
- Be experts in their field and present a seminar that relates to the biology and conservation of birds.
- Understand that it is a scientific conference and be able to convey information and a message that will resonate with our diverse delegates.
- Have excellent public speaking skills (e.g., engaging, charismatic, passionate).
- Directly address the conference theme in some way.
Nominations for keynote and plenary speakers should be made by filling out the brief information requested on this form. Please include the individual’s contact information, area of work, a brief statement explaining why he/she would be a strong speaker for this conference, and links to any relevant websites (personal website, LinkedIn, ResearchGate) where information such as their CV, publications or videos of past presentations, etc., can be found. Self-nominations will also be accepted. Nominations will close on 22 January 2022.
