Contest Submission Deadline: This competition closed on 5 February 2021.
Are you an artist with bold and creative ideas who also happens to love birds? The American Ornithological Society (AOS) is seeking a logo that captures the theme, spirit, and intention of our 2021 joint Society meeting with the Society of Canadian Ornithologists–Société de Ornithologistes du Canada (SCO-SOC) this coming August. That’s where you come in!
Put on your creative hat and enter our 2021 meeting logo competition! We’re inviting artists to submit creative, professional, stylized logo designs that boldly, cleverly, and creatively convey our meeting’s theme and reflect our mission to advance the science and conservation of birds. The theme of this year’s conference, “Birds of Many Feathers Flock Together,” harnesses the power of all the individuals who study, conserve, and educate our society about birds. Over the past 50 years we have lost nearly 3 billion North American birds and there is much we can and should do together to reverse this decline. We’re looking forward to a vibrant and stimulating conference in which we celebrate our diversity and share our knowledge, experiences, and ideas with each other across a broad array of disciplines, cultures, genders, ethnicities, and biomes. In efforts toward justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion also lies the strength we so urgently need to meet the critical demand of preserving avian diversity.
The winning logo will be used throughout our event’s promotional materials including, but not limited to, our website, meeting platform website, social media sites, meeting merchandise, and promotional materials. A prize of $500.00 will be awarded for the winning entry and the winner will be announced through AOS’s communications channels.
Visit the Annual Meeting page on the AOS website for more information about the meeting. (Note: The meeting’s official website will launch in the coming weeks.)
