Virtual Event

AOS Professional Development Webinar

Presenter:

Martha Barta, AOS Elective Student Councilor; Ph.D. Student, Tulane University

Moderator:

Sara Padula

Communicating your research to a broad audience is a critical part of today’s scientific process, and prioritizing accessibility in science communication helps ensure that your ideas and findings are disseminated widely and openly. In this workshop, we will use a universal design framework to broaden our understanding of accessibility and explore what accessibility means in science communication. We’ll discuss concrete strategies to promote accessibility before, during, and after a communication event, and present free tools that can help make your content accessible to more viewers. By striving for accessible communication, members of all career stages and sub-disciplines can support a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming scientific community.

This event was organized by Sara Padula and Raven the troodontid.
